Baptism

From death to life

Baptism is a public declaration of a personal decision that you are a follower of Jesus and beginning a changed life in Him! We are so excited that you are considering this next step in your faith journey!

Why do we baptize?

Baptism is a symbolic way of declaring the fact that the Lord Jesus has saved your life. You are publicly declaring that you have chosen to obey Christ as a forgiven and redeemed child of God.

What is the significance of baptism?

Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection.

What if my child wants to be baptized?

We have created a class specific for children who are interested in being baptized here at Fellowship Church. The name of the class is “Kids 101 Learning Lab”. In this class, your child will discover foundational concepts about God, Jesus, Baptism, the Trinity, & how to live life like a true believer! It is offered every other month and you can sign up on our Church Center app under Kids ministry classes.

Do we baptize infants?

We do not perform baptisms for infants at Fellowship Church. It is important that a child understands salvation and the reason for baptism.

Should I be re-baptized?

As you learn about baptism and its biblical meaning, you can determine whether getting baptized again as an adult is the right step for you. You can set up an appointment with one of our pastors to help with your decision!

Do I need to bring anything?

You can bring swim trunks or shorts, and we will provide a shirt for you to be baptized in - along with a baptism certificate. Invite your friends and family and get ready to celebrate!
