If you haven’t taken Rooted – join today! If you have – your next step is to join a Group! Groups include Adult Coed, Men, Women and LifeCARE groups that meet on and off-campus at various times throughout the week.

GroupS FAQ

A Group consists of 3 to 12 people of many different life stages who gather together for Bible study with the goal of connecting better with God and with others.

Everyone needs relationships (friends) and everyone needs someone to pick them up when they fall. Groups provide a place where you can “do life” together with others and a place where you can belong during your life’s journey.

Everyone! Adults who are married, single, in college, with children or without children, “empty-nesters” and mature adults ages 55+. No matter if you are new to Fishhawk Fellowship or have been attending for a while, groups are open to receive new friends.

Small Groups meet any day of the week at any time. They can meet in the home of the group leader or in the home of another group member, in restaurants, or club houses. Some select women’s, men’s and care groups meet on campus. Activity groups meet together in locations determined by their activity. When group sign-up is underway, you will find more group details by clicking on the “Find A Group” button above.

Groups typically meet for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Though each group will differ in how they do things, group time consists of Sermon Based or a Topical Bible Study, building relationships, discussion, and prayer. Most groups also fellowship around snacks and refreshments. All are encouraged to do life together by serving through missional activities and having fun get-togethers outside of group time.

Small Groups are set up on a semester system where groups meet and then take the summer off. We believe that Scripture teaches that there is a time to work and there is a need to have a time to rest.

Fall Semester – September, October, November, December (11-13 weeks)
Spring Semester – February, March, April (11-13 weeks)

Yes! At the conclusion of each semester, if your group leader plans on leading again, each group member will be given an opportunity to pre-enroll by letting the leader know they would like to continue on with the group.
One important goal of our Small Group ministry is for groups to “organically multiply” into new Small Groups. Also, as a group becomes too full to accommodate new friends or family invited by group members, it is important that the group consider splitting off into a new group so that new Kingdom growth will continue to take place. This helps keep an “open seat” available at all times for a guest, neighbor, co-worker or family member to fill.

There is no charge to join or attend, however, there may be a cost for books or study guides if you are in a LifeCARE or topical study group, depending on the curriculum, which may be $10-$20.

If you have completed church membership you could start a new group by becoming a Group Leader.
