Becoming Compassionate | Week 3

Series: Becoming

Book: James

Campus: FishHawk

Scripture: James 2:1-13

We’re often quicker to judge people than we realize. We make assumptions based on appearance, success, personality, beliefs, mistakes, or whether someone seems like “our kind of person.” But James 2 challenges us to see people differently. Instead of deciding who deserves our attention, kindness, or compassion, Jesus invites us to recognize the worth in every person. This message explores how judgment can grow from insecurity, comparison, and our own experiences of being judged—and how mercy changes the way we respond. When we understand the grace we’ve received, we can replace criticism with compassion and learn to see people differently.
