FOR THE ONE

Fellowship Church is a vibrant and diverse community of Jesus followers united across Tampa Bay – one church in multiple locations. Our mission is simple: lead people to encounter Jesus and experience life to the full.

Our vision can be summed up in 3 words: For the One. Because no is ever too far from God’s love, we are willing to do whatever it takes to bring the good news of Jesus to one neighbor, one neighborhood at a time. Together, we are joining God’s mission to bless Tampa Bay and beyond—because in Christ, anything is possible.

Meet Daniel Butson

Tag/punchy one liner can go here.

Daniel has been the Lead Pastor of Fellowship Church since 2020 and part of the team since 2015. He’s passionate about helping people experience the life-changing love of Jesus and live out their God-given purpose. Daniel’s heart is to lead a Jesus-centered church where lives are transformed, everyone feels welcome, and people are equipped to make a difference—one neighbor and one neighborhood at a time.

Daniel and his wife, Katie, have been married since 2008 and love raising their two daughters, who keep life full of joy and adventure. In his free time, you’ll find Daniel playing tennis, learning a new recipe, exploring nature, cheering on the Seminoles, watching a good movie, connecting over a great meal, or savoring a triple espresso.

Daniel earned his doctorate in leadership from Fuller Seminary, studied church planting at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Political Science and Economics (Go Noles!).

THE WAY FORWARD

DEPEND

We depend on Jesus (instead of depend) Trusting there’s nothing better than following Him Mark 8:34-38, Take up your cross Mark 1, Come, follow me Mark 12:38-42 – Love God with all

We’re Shaped by the Scriptures (instead of formed) Standing on His Word as our Ultimate Guide Mark 9; 2 Peter 1 – More than the Transfiguration

OUR BELIEFS

This is the church’s preferred method for giving large, one-time gifts because it eliminates transaction fees. Checks can be made payable to “Fellowship Church” and dropped off at any location during service or mailed to:

OUR STORY

Giving appreciated securities like stock or mutual funds often allows you to maximize your giving! While selling a security could result in a capital gains tax liability, giving appreciated stock directly to the church could help you avoid that tax. If you'd like more information about giving stock or mutual funds, please reach out to us via email!

OUR STAFF

Giving from your IRA is a great way to support the church, especially to satisfy a required minimum distribution. Please refer to the IRS website for more information.

Our Giving Commitment

1

TRUST IS EARNED

The staff must prove themselves worthy of that trust every day of every year. We will always be honest with you and our church and fully cooperate with the Finance Team and Pastoral Council to retain the church’s trust.

2

TRANSPARENCY IS NEEDED

Neither our pastors nor our staff will knowingly withhold any financial information from the Finance Team or Pastoral Council. Everything our staff does and all that our staff spends will be on the table and accessible for the Finance Team to see.

3

ACCOUNTABILITY IS REQUIRED

Church funds may only be dispersed according to the policies of the Finance Team. No one pastor has access to church funds. Every pastor, just like every other staff member, has to fill out check requests and provide receipts and justification for any expenditures.

4

INTEGRITY IS ESSENTIAL

Our goal as a team is to walk through ministry and at the end of every year come out on the other side with no one able to honestly say that they misused church funds in any way. The staff considers your gifts to this church to be a sacred trust.

5

STEWARDSHIP IS KEY

We believe every dollar that is given to this church is a gift to be stewarded. The Pastors, staff, and lay leadership teams are committed to working in tandem to accomplish the church’s mission of leading people to encounter Jesus and experience life to the full. Our lay teams work with our staff as partners in ministry. Staff leaders are open to hearing alternative ideas, and together, find the best answers for the church. We have no other goal than accomplishing God’s mission for this church alongside our staff.

6

MARGIN IS IMPORTANT

Finally, we strive to keep our church fiscally strong and, Lord willing, have margin so that we can continue to bless communities one neighborhood, one neighbor at a time.

Why do we give?

At Fellowship Church, we believe that giving is a response to the gift of grace and mercy that we have received from God through Jesus. We don’t give to earn God’s favor or because He requires us to; rather, giving flows from a heart that worships Jesus. And as we give generously, our lives are transformed to look more like Jesus.

Giving teaches us to trust God and submit everything to Him because everything we have comes from Him. God doesn’t need our gifts, resources, or energy, but He gives them to us so that we might use them to actively pursue the mission that He’s given His church to make disciples. When we give generously, God is glorified, our hearts are transformed, and lives are changed in Lithia and around the world.

Why give to fellowship church?

At Fellowship Church we make a strong commitment to stewarding the resources God entrusts to us. Every dollar we receive is put back into growing the Kingdom of God and fulfilling our mission. This includes ministry on our local campuses, in our communities, and our international church partners and missionaries.
