FOR THE ONE

Fellowship Church is a vibrant and diverse community of Jesus followers united across Tampa Bay – one church in multiple locations. Our mission is simple: lead people to encounter Jesus and experience life to the full.

Our vision can be summed up in 3 words: For the One. Because no one is ever too far from God’s love, we are willing to do whatever it takes to bring the good news of Jesus to one neighbor, one neighborhood at a time. Together, we are joining God’s mission to bless Tampa Bay and beyond—because in Christ, anything is possible.

Meet Daniel Butson

Daniel has been the Lead Pastor of Fellowship Church since 2020 and part of the team since 2015. He’s passionate about helping people experience the life-changing love of Jesus and live out their God-given purpose. Daniel’s heart is to lead a Jesus-centered church where lives are transformed, everyone feels welcome, and people are equipped to make a difference—one neighbor and one neighborhood at a time.

Daniel and his wife, Katie, have been married since 2008 and love raising their two daughters, who keep life full of joy and adventure. In his free time, you’ll find Daniel playing tennis, learning a new recipe, exploring nature, cheering on the Seminoles, watching a good movie, connecting over a great meal, or savoring a triple espresso.

Daniel earned his doctorate in leadership from Fuller Seminary, studied church planting at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Political Science and Economics (Go Noles!).

WHAT MOVES US

DEPEND

We depend on Jesus (instead of depend) Trusting there’s nothing better than following Him Mark 8:34-38, Take up your cross Mark 1, Come, follow me Mark 12:38-42 – Love God with all
We Don’t Go it Alone (or We’re Better Together) – instead of celebrate diversity Believing there’s strength in community Mark 2:1-12- Paralytic didn’t have much – but he did have good friends
We Love Where We Live (instead of champions for community) Seeking to do good and bless our neighbors Mark 5:19; Mark 12:28-32 “Love you neighbor” - Demon-Possessed man goes home to share good news about what God has done.
We’re Empowered by the Spirit Trusting His Power transforms lives Mark 1:1-12 – Jesus led by Spirit into the wilderness – finds power
We’re Shaped by the Scriptures (instead of formed) Standing on His Word as our Ultimate Guide Mark 9; 2 Peter 1 – More than the Transfiguration
We Do Whatever it Takes to Reach the One Doing for one what we wish we could do for all Mark 5 – Jairus get Jesus to his daughter, Mark 12:28-32 – The passion of a father to get Jesus to his daughter – Very compelling
We Move One Step at a time (instead of develop people) Because no one is too young to make a difference Mark 9:42- If you cause these little ones to stumble…Mark 10:13-16 Jesus and the little children 1 Tim 4:12, or the little kid’s sack lunch – Mark 6:35 – ff Believing that life change happens one step at a time Peter getting out of the boat – taking a step. Next Step – Mark 6:45-56 – Peter takes a step out of boat

OUR STORY

Giving appreciated securities like stock or mutual funds often allows you to maximize your giving! While selling a security could result in a capital gains tax liability, giving appreciated stock directly to the church could help you avoid that tax. If you'd like more information about giving stock or mutual funds, please reach out to us via email!

Giving from your IRA is a great way to support the church, especially to satisfy a required minimum distribution. Please refer to the IRS website for more information.
