We live in a world full of mixed messages and half-truths, but 1 John 4 reminds us to “test the spirits,” to make sure what we’re hearing actually lines up with God’s truth. Not everything that sounds good or feels right is from Him. The Spirit of Truth always points us toward Jesus, while the spirit of error pulls us away. When we pray, stay in Scripture, walk with others in community, and listen for God’s voice, we can spot what’s real. The good news is that the One who lives in us is greater than anything in this world.
